No Path Forward is a first-person psychological-horror story set in a small mountain village. This game serves to be symbolic of mental health struggles the developer has gone through, as well as how he found his faith in Jesus.
The anxieties of life have been weighing you down. You decide to listen to your coworker's advice and take a solo, overnight hiking trip through a part of the mountains you haven't been to before. What could go wrong? Surely your mind will slow down once you're exposed to beautiful mother nature. Here's the plan:
Get to the trailer home. All you know is that you need to find a trailer home to stay in for the night. Not just any trailer home, but the one your coworker's uncle owns. The trailer home that you have no pictures or details of. As long as you were on pace during your hike, you should arrive before the sun sets.
Figure out what's off. As you make your way, something feels wrong about this place. You can't put your finger on it, but something is not right. Uncover the truth by thinking harder, talking with locals, and exploring the area.
Take a break. Finally.. Take a rest for the night in the comfort of the trailer -- a place for you to recharge, recoup, and destress before your next big day of hiking.
Make it out. All you really want to do is get through the night, so that you can continue on with your hike in the morning. Stay the night, wake up, and continue on the hike. Simple as that. But what if there's other plans in store for you?
