Game Pulse: 1972 Season Set
Step into the start of a dynasty. This set brings the complete 1972 professional baseball season to Game Pulse — all 24 teams, every player, and authentic ballpark cards reflecting the quirks and dimensions of the era's classic venues.
What's Included
All 24 team rosters with full player cards (position players and pitchers)
Every 1972-era ballpark, with ratings derived from period park performance data
New ratings built from the full 1972 regular season, LCS, and World Series
Card Generation
Every card is generated from actual 1972 season statistics. Batter and pitcher ratings are built from real performance data across the full season, with park factors computed from each stadium's run environment — so Steve Carlton's card reflects his legendary 27-win Cy Young year with a last-place team, and the Oakland Coliseum plays the way it played.
A Season Full of Legends
1972 was packed with stars at the peak of their craft. Steve Carlton authored one of the greatest pitching seasons ever — 27 wins for a Phillies team that won only 59 games all year. Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, and Rollie Fingers powered the Swingin' A's. Johnny Bench won his second NL MVP anchoring the Big Red Machine, with Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, and Tony Perez alongside him. Hank Aaron kept climbing toward 714. And Roberto Clemente played his final season, collecting his 3,000th hit in his last regular-season at-bat. Gaylord Perry, Dick Allen, Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew, Carlton Fisk — every star's real 1972 performance is here, card for card.
Relive the 1972 World Series
Oakland A's vs. Cincinnati Reds. The first championship of the Swingin' A's dynasty, a seven-game classic where six of the seven games were decided by a single run. Gene Tenace's out-of-nowhere heroics, Rollie Fingers out of the bullpen, and the Big Red Machine pushing them to the brink. Replay it batter by batter, manage either side, or run the series a few dozen times to see how often history repeats itself. Every at-bat, every pitching change, every ballpark detail — all driven by the real 1972 cards and the roll of the dice.
A Cards and Dice Baseball Game
Game Pulse is a true cards and dice baseball simulation. Every plate appearance is resolved by player cards and dice rolls — the same tactile, statistically driven experience that tabletop fans have loved for decades, brought to life digitally with full animation, sound, and presentation.
