If you go back in time to the 1980s, there was usually a trend where a popular game would be released and spinoffs from other companies would come along, attempting to provide a unique spin on that formula. Pong, had many clones. Pac-Man was duplicated so many times. Space Invaders.. had so many different iterations. But Snake? SNAKE?
Start as a block 10 units high, beginning on random position in a grid, while a random pellet spawns.
As you move (in the cardinal directions), each movement reduces your height by 1, but your previous placement is persistent.
Obtaining a red pellet resizes your height to 10. Your previous tail continues to diminish at a rate of 1 per movement until lost at 0, but the new tail resumes at 10.
Yellow pellets increase your multiplier, but also the length of your tail.
Do not hit your tail. Do not run out of tail.
Eat as many pellets as possible.
Get high score.
The steam version provides access to a myriad of further options to customise your gameplay experience.
Your high score will be saved and displayed prominently on the main screen.
You can customise your controls to whatever buttons you like.
You can enable or disable Fullscreen mode, Glow effects, Deep Blacks and Sound Effects.
The colours of PlanckMan, and the food and multiplier pellets can be set to your liking.
RGB MODE is also included, if you want a nice, new, vibrant experience.
You can set the window size of the PlanckMan game window to whatever you want, and save this resolution as your preference so the game will always load to that resolution.
The game has been developed to be as accessible as possible, for people requiring the use of other devices to play, or those with limitations. As such, the menus are navigable with both the tab button, but also the key bindings set in the customised controls section.
The game concept was imagined and created by BL3I, a YouTuber who tries to create new experiences with hardware and software, and experiments with how technology can change the lives of others via entertainment and accessibility.
Don't forget, you can play the free version of this game by visiting the website - So give it a go if you want to try.. and consider purchasing if you either want to support, or would like access to the extra features included in the Steam release.
